Telltale Signs That You’re in Dire Need of a Career Reboot

Are you stuck in your career ladder? Do you feel as if you’re not moving forward when it comes to your professional life? Are you stuck working in a boring, repetitive job without room for improvement?
Do you dream of doing something else more fulfilling and rewarding? If so, you may be in dire need of a career reboot.
According to career mentors, it’s time for you re-evaluate the causes or factors of your job dissatisfaction.
Are you feeling dissatisfied because you’re just exhausted or tired after a long day of work? Or do these thoughts keep on lingering in your mind? To help you determine whether you need a career change or not, the career mentors give these telltale signs showing you need a career change.
No Promotion

Getting promoted inspires you to work harder to achieve your career ladder as well as your other life goals.
Do you notice how the other employees get promoted in no time while you’re still stuck in the same position? While sometimes your current skills and abilities might not be on par with the guidelines or requirements for promotion, you shouldn’t get stuck doing the same job for eternity.
If you feel as if your skills are outdated, this is the perfect time for you to try new things. Get enrolled in a class or crash course to learn and acquire the skills you need to grab that promotion you dream of.
No Raise
Aside from not getting a promotion, you might’ve noticed you’re also not getting any salary increase or aren’t entitled to perks and benefits the other employees have. While most wage increases happen slowly and aren’t that high, you should be able to get at least a 2.9% wage increase according to recent studies.
You’re Stuck In Your Job
Do you feel as if you get stuck in your job doing the same tasks over and over? Do you feel as if there’s no way for you to advance in your career? If your job no longer challenges, fulfills, or inspires you to keep working, it’s a warning sign that you need to have a career change.
According to career mentors, you don’t have to quit your job yet. If possible, talk to your boss, HR staff, or some other superior and tell them you’re at a professional standstill.

Talk to your boss and ask for a possible job or project reassignment to challenge and motivate yourself.
Ask for a job reassignment or let them assign you to a project that’s different from what you usually do. Maybe what you need is some variation. If you feel motivated again after changing your job assignment, then you’re on the right path. If all else fails, the job mentors recommend you try pursuing other career options.
You’re Not Motivated to Go to Work
Do you dread waking up early in the morning to go to work? Does the thought of going to work make you want to go home already? This is an alarming sign that tells you are in dire need of a reboot. Assess your current job and see if it’s still in line with your interest and passion. If it isn’t, assess your skills and strengths to see what other career options you have to pursue.
You’re Not Getting Any Gigs.
If you feel you’re not getting any gigs and your client base keeps on decreasing, the career mentors say the skills you possess may no longer be enough to keep your employers satisfied. Try conducting a research study to determine your customers’ changing preferences and demands then try to update and upgrade your skills to match them.
The Rise of Automation

Consider starting a business so that you can have something to fall back on in case you lose your job.
Do you feel threatened by the rise of automation? Does your employer start laying off the employees in favor of computers and automation? While this dreadful scenario isn’t going to happen anytime soon, you might want to think ahead of time regarding what you want to do in case you lose your job. You can start a business or try another venture to expand your horizon.
